Get Back, Inc.

Transitional & Permanent Housing for Veterans

Frequently Asked Questions

"We are all dishonored when a veteran sleeps on the same streets that he or she has defended." Maj. L. Tammy Duckworth

Q: Who do we serve?
A: Get Back, Inc. assists veterans to "Get Back" into the main stream of society.

Our clients are the veterans who have diligently served our country, voluntarily putting themselves in harms way to "protect and preserve" our great country, insuring us the privilege of enjoying the American way of life. Some of these great warriors have come home to the streets, emergency shelters, hospitals, and residential treatment programs. Many, unfortunately, have been incarcerated, and others were fortunate to enter transitional housing programs.

Get Back, Inc. provides transitional housing, which assists veterans who are ready to move beyond emergency shelters into a more independent living situation.

Any veteran, male or female, who is seeking the necessary skills, tools, and self-confidence to successfully complete the starting-over process is recruited into our program.

Our transitional programs allow veterans to further develop the stability, confidence,  and coping skills needed to sustain themselves as they move into permanent housing. It is required that residents maintain a sober and drug-free environment while living in Get Back housing, and residents may stay for up to 24 months.

Q: What do we do?
A: Get Back, Inc. is a public non-profit charitable organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Federal Revenue Code. Our organization was established in 2003 and continues to provide transitional housing and work programs for male and female veterans in the Sacramento county area.
